A toddler, aged two, who accidentally tumbled into a borewell in Karnataka, has been successfully rescued following an extensive 18-hour operation. The rescue mission commenced around 6:30 pm on Wednesday evening after the child fell into a 16-feet deep borewell situated in Lachayan village.

Reportedly, the child slipped into the borewell while playing near his residence, with the unfortunate incident unfolding head first. The discovery was made when a passerby heard the child’s cries and promptly alerted the family.

Authorities initiated efforts by excavating a pit approximately 21-feet deep alongside the borewell using an excavator, aiming to retrieve the child safely.

Updates on the child’s condition remain undisclosed. A medical team is present on-site equipped with oxygen supply and emergency first aid provisions, including injections, prepared for immediate use. Furthermore, an ambulance is on standby, primed to transport the child swiftly to a hospital in Indi upon successful rescue.
