Bengaluru: Muniratna, an autorickshaw driver living in Gandhinagar, Lakshmanpuri slum hosted BS Yeddyurappa, State BJP president and spent Rs11,000 for the same.
Yeddyurappa wanted to have a first-hand experience of the slum dwellers’ problem and therefore decided to spend a night in a slum in February 2018. Since he was not comfortable in using an Indian toilet he had requested them to change the commode to western style.
The toilet modification cost was refunded by the BJP. Once Yeddyurappa left the house neither Yeddyurappa nor the local BJP workers have reverted to the family. The family members of Munirathna were uncomfortable using the Western style toilet so they had to change it back to Indian style, which cost them Rs.15,000.
According to reports when the family approached the local leaders they paid them only Rs.4000 leaving them with a burden of Rs.11,000.
The poor man is now wondering how the stay of one of the top political leaders has left him in a lurch.
