Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old woman allegedly kicked her husband to death in the early hours of Sunday at their home in Kavika Layout after the man who was reportedly HIV positive tried to force himself on her without any protection.

The 45-year-old man, who was a cab driver in a private company, had married her 17 years ago. The couple has a 14-year-old daughter.

In her statement to the police, the woman claimed that her husband was diagnosed with HIV recently and would demand intimacy without protection. She told the police that on Saturday night, he allegedly returned home inebriated and the situation escalated when she refused. In an attempt to protect herself from the assault, she kicked him, following which he collapsed.

According to the police, the woman soon realised what she had done, and alerted her neighbours who took the man to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The police have registered a case against her under Section 302 of IPC.

The police are waiting for the victim’s medical reports to verify the woman’s claim that he was HIV+.
