Wheeling claims one in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Despite traffic police taking various measures to curb wheeling in the city to prevent fatal accidents, a 17-year-old girl killed on Thursday night after falling off pillion when her friend did wheeling on busy Old Madras Road.

The police have identified the victim as Shiny Kiran K, a resident of Jayarajnagar, near Ulsoor. According to the police sources, Shiny Kiran was a student of RJS PU College, Koramangala. The police said Shiny was riding pillion when the accident took place. The police said the accident took place at around 8.30 pm in front of Gopalan Mall.

It was said Shiny fell off the bike when the biker lost control while doing wheeling and a speeding Canter which was coming behind ran over her. The sources said the biker fled on his bike from the accident spot without bothering about Shiny. The passersby rushed Shiny to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.

A case has been registered at Indiranagar Traffic Police Station and the police have launched a hunt for the biker.
