Bengaluru appears to be on track for a promising May in terms of rainfall after a dry April. The month is only one week old, and the city has already seen three days of rain. On Monday, the city was hit by strong gusts and light to moderate rain, with some places even seeing severe downpours.
The Varuna Mitra dashboard of the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) provided data as of 9 pm, indicating that Dayananda Nagar (32.5 mm) and Rajamahal Guttahalli (39.5 mm) had the highest amounts of rain. In the city, at least 18 wards saw more than 10 mm of rain.
Bommanahalli recorded the most rain of all the zones, while Yelahanka recorded the least. By afternoon, the city was gloomy, but the temperature was still quite low. The maximum temperature in Bengaluru was reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to be 36.3 degrees Celsius, a minor drop from the 38 degrees Celsius that had been recorded during the previous few days.
According to weather officials, the city will have light to moderate rain until May 10. The city’s high and low temperatures will be roughly 37°C and 24°C, respectively.
