Bengaluru: Rahul Dravid has won millions of hearts across the world, not just for his game but also because of his simplicity, character and dignity. In yet another incident, the former Indian captain did it again and has bagged respect of Indians.
Dravid was nominated for an honorary doctorate degree by the Bangalore University, but he politely refused to accept the same citing the reason that he would want to earn one instead of being given one.
Called ‘The Wall’, Dravid has always shown to the world that taking short cuts to success is not his style at all and this time, even when it came to taking home a honorary degree, Dravid stood by his conviction that hard work always pays off.
Currently the coach of the under-19 Indian cricket team, Dravid played 164 Tests and 344 ODIs scoring 13288 and 10889 runs respectively.
