It is noticeable that Sriramulu, Shashikala Jolle, Anand Singh, Kota Srinivas Poojari, C. C. Patil, Govind Karajol and Murugesh Nirani got new portfolios.
Soon after allocation of portfolio Minister Anand Singh requested a change in his portfolio and hinted at stepping down as minister only to continue as MLA of the party. Replying to this statement by Anand Singh, Bommai said that he will discuss with Anand Singh and others in this regard. I share a friendly equation with everyone, he added.
Before the announcement and allocation of portfolios, Bommai maintained that he considers himself as a lucky Chief Minister for he did not face any lobbying as far as allocating ministership is concerned. The allocation was supposed to happen on Friday August 6, however there was delay in me returning to Bengaluru from Tumkuru and hence the list has been put out today and Raj Bhavan will publish it, he clarified.
It can be recalled here that a week after becoming the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Bommai on Wednesday August 4 had expanded his new cabinet, by inducting 29 Ministers.Among those inducted as ministers only 6 were new faces and rest 23 were part of Yediyurappa’s Cabinet too.
