Bengaluru: It is the turn of state forest minister Satish Jarakiholi to create a controversy on Wednesday. His speech at Kadoli village in Belagavi on Tuesday night created a new controversy as he questioned the contributions of the upper castes towards the country’s security.
Speaking at a Congress election meeting in the village, Jarakiholi said it is the SC, ST, OBC and Muslims who sacrificed more for the country’s security. “Deshpande, Joshi, Kulkarni and other upper castes didn’t sacrifice for the cause of the nation’s pride. There is no history of upper caste soldiers dying for the country,” he said.
He further stated that more soldiers died under the regime of Narendra Modi compared to other governments. “Even UPA government led by Manmohan Singh carried out surgical strikes, but it gave the credit to the military. However, Modi is claiming the credit for the sacrifices of the soldiers,” he said.
