Bengaluru: Two minor boys were arrested by the DJ Halli police on Saturday, for allegedly killing 16-year-old Ghouse and throwing his body in a garbage dump. The assailants had smashed the victim’s head with a stone.
The accused had absconded after the incident last Wednesday and were arrested following a complaint filed by the victim’s parents. They had attacked Ghouse at Roshan Nagar near DJ Halli, police said.
During the interrogation, they confessed that Ghouse’s uncle Aslam used to abuse one of the accused for not working. Upset over this, the accused decided to send a message to Aslam warning against advising boys, they said.
On Tuesday evening, the prime accused and his friend picked a quarrel with Ghouse and in a fit of rage, they dragged him to an isolated place and hit him with a stone. Later, they threw his body in a garbage dumping yard and escaped. Passersby, after noticing the body, alerted the police, and later the victim’s family filed a case of murder.
Based on the information given by the victim’s parents, the police traced his friends and learnt about the role of the accused. Ghouse was studying in ninth standard in a government school and was doing a part-time job in a fast food eatery.
