Two held for slapping traffic police inspector

Bengaluru: The Mahadevapura police have arrested two software engineers for allegedly slapping a traffic police inspector during a drunken driving check at Doddanekkundi junction on Old Aiport Road early on Sunday.

The police have identified the accused as Alok (30) and Priyashu Kumar (29), natives of Bihar, working at a tech firm in CV Raman Nagar and residents in Doddanekkundi.

The duo were booked under the charges of assault and disrupting a government servant from discharging his duties and remanded in judicial custody.

According to the police, a team, led by Inspector Mohammed M., on night duty received information about two men, reportedly on a robbing spree.

They rushed to the spot and found the duo riding a motorcycle. Mohammed tried to stop them but they duo tried to flee. They allegedly shouted at the police, stating that they were sons of government officials and refused to show documents, the police added.

When the police tried to subject them to an alcometer test, they allegedly refused and also slapped the inspector.
