Tumakuru: The educational and social reforms done by Akshara Mata Savitribai Phule in the country were truly good works and her life’s ideals are a role model for all in today’s society, said Elarampura Kunchitiga Mahasamsthana Matha Peetha President Dr. Hanumanthanatha Swamiji.
Speaking on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, the country’s first woman teacher, the blood donation and nethradhana camp organised by the Koratagere Taluk Branch of The Karnataka State Savitribai Phule Teachers’ Association at the office premises of the Block Education Officer in Koratagere Town, he said, “Savitribai Phule, who endured many insults and studied relentlessly as well as educated women as India’s first woman teacher. She will always be remembered for her service,” he noted.
He added that the time when women were confined to the kitchen is over and now women have made their mark in all spheres, especially in the field of education.
