Thief’s hide-and-seek with police ends after 27 years!

Tumakuru: How long can a thief, wanted in as many as 16 cases in eight police station limits, give police a slip?

Well, if one has to go by Shadakshari’s account than he would surely say 27 years!

Yes, Shadakshari, 53, from Godekere in Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumkur district gave police a slip for 27 years.

He was wanted in 16 theft cases reported in eight police station limits including Arsikere in Hassan district. However, the police finally nabbed him on Friday.

As per Dr. V.J. Shobha Rani, Additional SP the police had been on a lookout for the man since over two decades and finally there were leads that he was living at Melukote in Mandya district.

The police team drew out a plan and finally nabbed him, thereby solving 16 property theft cases that stood registered against him.

Superintendent of Police Rahul Kumar Shahapurwad appreciated the efforts of police in nabbing the absconding thief.
