Bangalore : Even as the Congress is planning to invite top leaders including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to campaign for the party in the state for the upcoming Assembly elections, the BJP too has decided to invite senior leaders LK Advani, Rajnath Singh, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivaraj Singh and Chattisgarh CM Raman Singh and Sushma Swaraj to the state for election campaigning.
The leaders are expected to arrive on April 21 and participate in a public rally. Though Advani seems to be displeased to a great extent over the various developments that took place during the BJP tenure, the state party leaders have somehow convinced the leader to take part in campaigning.
The first phase of publicity campaign is expected to be held in Mangalore. Sushma Swaraj will campaign in Bangalore, BJP President Rajnath Singh will address a meeting in Belgaum while senior leader Venkaiah Naidu will travel in Raichur and Koppala districts.
In the second phase, the CMs of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh will campaign for the party. However their arrival date has not yet been confirmed.
