Three public servants arrested by ACB while taking bribe

Bengaluru: Three public servants have been arrested by the newly formed Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB) here on Monday oncharges of demand and acceptance of bribe.

Taluk Development officer Rajashekhar, office accountant Srinivas and a typist Shantamma, employees of Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Tribes Development Corporation Limited are the arrested.

The trap was laid by the ACB officials based on a complaint by P H Ramu. In the complaint, Ramu stated that he had sought for a subsidy loan of Rs one lakh from the corporation. But, the accused government officials demanded a bribe of Rs 7,000 to release the subsidy amount of Rs 35,000.

The arrested public servants were produced before the Lokayukta special court and have been sent to judicial custody.
