Bengaluru: Three persons belonged to a same family died on spot in a gruesome road accident on Sunday late evening, July 17.

The deceased have been identified as Prashanth, Shashank and Prajwal, residents of Girinagar, Bengaluru.

According to police, a head-on collision between two cars on NICE road near Kengeri, left three persons dead on spot and five persons injured. The injured are undergoing treatment at a nearby private hospital, police said.

The incident took place when a speeding Omni van rammed into a brand new Swift car, in which the deceased were travelling. The van lost control while overtaking another vehicle, police said.

Four persons were travelling in Swift car and seven were in Omni van. All seven persons in the van too sustained severe injuries, informed the police.

Prashanth had bought a new car and went to visit a temple near Satnur with his son Shashank and family members in the newly bought car. The accident occurred when they were returning back home.
