Bengaluru: The Vijayapura police have arrested three journalists for blackmailing a doctor, who runs a sonography clinic in the city, police said.

According to Vijayapura SP Prakash Amrit Nikkam, the arrested accused are Prasanna Deshpande, a reporter from Suvarna 24×7, and Ravi Bisanala and Basavaraj, two journalists working with local newspapers.

According to the police, the blackmailers first demanded a sum of Rs 15 lakhs. This was later reduced to Rs 10 lakhs. “Based on the complaints made by the doctor, all the three have been arrested,” the police informed.
