Bengaluru: The CID sleuths have arrested three persons in connection to the PU chemistry question paper leak incident. The arrested include a special officer appointed under a cabinet minister.

The arrested are Manjunath, Obhalaraj and Rudrappa and Obhalaraj is the special officer under Minister for Medical Education Dr Sharana Prakash.R Patil.
The first instance of question paper leak was reported on March 21 and then the case was handed over to the CID.
CID DIG Sonia Narang formed five teams to probe into the case and the teams have zeroed in on three names.
Manjunath, one of the arrested is the Physical Education Teacher at the New Cambridge, Vijayanagar. He is also an LIC agent who is said to have received the question paper first. Search is on to trace the person who got the paper to Manjunath.
Manjunath, then reportedly wrote the questions on a paper and handed it over to Obhalaraj. who sold the handwritten draft to Rudrappa for Rs 10 lac.
It is said that Rudrappa, an employee in the Public Works Department bought the question paper for his daughter, but later ended up selling it off to private colleges and tutorials.
The three have been arrested in connection to the leak that happened on March 21.
Investigations into the leak that happened on March 31 is on and the CID is yet to ascertain if the trio had a role to play in the second leak.
