Bengaluru: Three people died in separate road accidents in the city in the last 24 hours.
In an accident near Chikkajala, an engineering student was mowed down to death by speeding BMTC bus.
The deceased is identified as Arun Chandra, a resident of Magadi road. He was a student of Revanasiddeshwara engineering college.
In another accident, a biker was killed and a pillion rider suffered severe injuries after their speeding bike skewed and hit a stone at Varthur Kodi junction near Whitefield.
The deceased rider is Cheluvaraju. The pillion rider Vinod suffered severe injuries in the incident.
A senior citizen was killed after a speeding car hit him while crossing the road near Yelahanka on Wednesday morning.
The deceased is identified as Marappa (75), a resident of TK Nagar.
A profusely bleeding Marappa was taken to nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
In another gloomy incident, four police personnel including an ASI were severely injured after their jeep rammed to a parked water tanker on Airport Road.
