For about 10 years, the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) had looked after the functioning of “The Golden Chariot.” During this time, an estimated loss of Rs 40 crores was incurred by the government to the luxurious train service. Attempts to revive the services in September of 2018 had failed miserably.
