
Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a young businessman died on Tuesday, whilst taking a car for a test drive. Four others, who were in the car with him, sustained injuries.
The incident occurred at around 3 PM on NICE Road near the PES College Toll Plaza in Hosakerehalli of the southern part of the city.
Reportedly, the Byatarayanapura traffic police suspect that Sagar J Rao (31), was driving the Range Rover SUV at a high speed when the accident occurred.
His 27-year-old wife, Sandhya Sagar, 6-year-old son Samartha S, 30-year-old friend Gautham S and demo car driver Shivakumar, who was in the front passenger’s seat, were the others injured in the accident.
Sagar, an interior designer, is reported to have succumbed on the way to the hospital as a result of his severe injuries.
Police sources said that Sagar veered the car to the extreme left when approaching the toll plaza, hitting a cement block, crashing into the road railings and flipping over a number of times. The car finally came to a stop when it landed in a 10-metre deep ditch, the sources added.
The injured were rushed to BGS Global Hospital, near Kengeri. Sagar was, however, declared brought dead.
A case has been registered in this regard.
