Bengaluru: Bowing down to the accusation over setting up a lab in government hospital premises, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s younger son Dr Yathindra resigned from the post as the company’s director on Wednesday.

Dr Yathindra, one of the directors of Matrix Imaging Solutions’ lab, which bagged the tender for setting up a diagnostic center as a part of Pradhan Manthri Swasthya Suraksha Yojane at Victoria hospital premises, got caught in a controversy.

As soon as the news broke out, members of opposition parties criticised the chief minister of nepotism which led Dr Yathindra to step down from the post.

Meanwhile, speaking to media, Siddaramaiah ruled out any such nepotism practiced from his side.

“In fact, my son informed me only after getting the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Everything has gone in a very much transparent way,” he said.
