On June 15, NIA officials had arrested a suspected terrorist by the name K Habibur Rehman alias Sheikh (30) in Doddaballapur. He allegedly has links with the banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, an Islamic terrorist organisation operating in Bangladesh.
Sheikh was wanted in a case pertaining to crude bomb production case.
Two days later, on June 17, the NIA recovered two IEDs from a stream in Ramanagar city which was thrown by Sheikh. Now, based on further information revealed by Sheikh, a house was raided in Chikkabananavara and explosives were seized
“Sheikh lived in this house for two years ago along with two of his friends and were pretending to be bangle sellers. They left the house just two months ago,” said NIA sources.
