Bengaluru: Actress Sumalatha Ambareesh who is planning to contest as an independent candidate from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming general election posed for a pre-election photo shoot. The photo shoot was carried out in a private studio of the Bengaluru city.

According to the sources, Sumalatha attended the photo shoot to take a few pictures which can be utilised for the campaign materials.

“She is taking the campaign very seriously. With the Congress support, she is expected to break the JDS bastion,” added sources.

“Sumalatha was wearing a saree for the photo shoot. Her supporters felt that there were not many photos of her’s which could be utilised for the election campaign,” said sources close to Sumalata.

Meanwhile, Sumalatha who was expecting tactical support from ministers MB Patil and KJ George is found isolated in the Congress circles.

“Her hope is now G Madegowda, the former MP and Mandya strongman who is a staunch opponent of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda,” said sources in the Mandya Congress.
