Bangalore: Statewide 4,319 people are affected by endosulfan, the deadly insecticide that is banned in other countries, said the state health minister U T Khader.
The minister U T Khader in his written reply to the query raised by the former CM Jagdish Shettar, said that the state government has taken appropriate action to provide healthcare facilities to endosulfan victims, said minister U T Khader.
“The state government has issued compensation of Rs 50,000 each to 208 endosulfan affected families. The endosulfan victims of 134 families who are affected with 75 percent of disability are paid a monthly pension of Rs 1,000, those affected with 40 percent of disability will be paid a monthly pension of Rs 400, clarified minister U T Khader.
