State government to withdraw all cases against Cauvery agitators

Bengaluru: The state government has decided to withdraw all the cases registered against the Cauvery agitators.

A decision in this regard was taken by a cabinet sub-committee headed by Maddur MLA and transport minister DC Thammanna.

According to the sources, the committee which met on Friday decided to withdraw all the cases except the cases of attack on the police and death cases.

“95% of cases will be withdrawn. The sub-committee report will be placed for review and approved by the state cabinet at its meeting next week,” said Thammanna.

Sources indicate that all the cases pending since the year 2005 will be withdrawn.
