Bengaluru: In a sudden move, the state government changed the Commissioners of Police of three cities of the state including Mysuru.

According to the transfer orders issued by the police department, Mysuru city police commissioner Dr A Subrahmanyeswara Rao, who is considered to be a close friend of former CM Siddaramaiah’s younger son Varuna MLA Dr Yatheendra, has been moved out of the city. He has not been shown any posting yet and has been replaced by K T Balakrishna, who was the SP of the intelligence department in Bengaluru.

Belagavi city police commissioner D C Rajappa has also been transferred under this order and has been replaced by P Rajendra Prasad, SP, wireless division, Bengaluru.

Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner M N Nagaraj has been replaced with KGF SP B S Lokesh Kumar.

These transfer orders have come at a time when the JDS and Congress leaders are fighting over the posting of a few senior police officers who are lobbying hard for key positions in the department.
