Bengaluru: Often we come across instances of out of syllabus question coming up in a paper but in this one off instance an SSLC student appeared for a wrong question paper altogether after he was handed over the same by the invigilator.

The incident occurred on March 30, when the student of New Priyadarshini High School, Hebbal appeared to write the first language paper, Kannada at the BG National Public High School, Jakkur Layout, which was the exam centre.

As it turned out the boy was given an English question paper instead of a Kannada one. However, the mistake the boy committed was that he smugly attempted the question paper, without bringing it to the notice of the invigilator. The syllabus of the paper that he was attempting was new to him and after making an attempt, he simply returned home crying.

The student’s parents approached the management of Priyadarshini school after coming to know of the incident who in turn shot a letter to the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) for reconsideration.

However, it is learnt that the board has refused to reconsider the case citing that the boy instead of attempting the paper should have pointed out the error to the invigilator or a squad. He has been asked to clear the subject in the supplementary exams later.
