Bangalore: Sri Rama Sene has filed a Public Interest Litigation in the High Court seeking a ban on the visit of controversial American evangelist Benny Hinn and prohibiting him from entering the state.
Benny Hinn is scheduled to host a conference in Bangalore from January 15 to 19. The petition filed by the Sri Rama Sene stated that the visit of Benny Hinn created apprehensive situation in the State. Moreover the petition has also recalled that his earlier visit in 2005 had triggered protests in which over 100 buses were damaged.
The petition further pointed out that the State government was in the process of bringing in Karnataka Prevention of Superstitious Practice Bill 2013 and that the visit of Benny Hinn was not welcome.
