Bengaluru: JD(S) state president H?D?Kumaraswamy has alleged that the Congress government has been regularly sending money to its party in New Delhi by special flights since carrying such money on regular flights is not allowed.
Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Kumaraswamy said that only few selected people accompany the chief minister with the money on these flights.
The two national parties – the Congress and the BJP – have looted Karnataka over the last nine years. This was evident even from the discussions in the legislature, he said.
Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Modi, Kumaraswamy said that Modi who has been speaking about the high-level corruption in UP while campaigning for elections there will end up urging people to vote for JD(S) in Karnataka if he sees the corruption nurtured by the Congress and the BJP.
Kumaraswamy, who chaired the party’s core committee meeting, said that 33 sitting MLAs of his party would get tickets to contest the next Assembly elections. He added that of the total 40 MLAs, seven have been suspended and the rest of the contestants would be selected based on their ability. In the first phase, the list of names of 105 to 120 contestants would be released.
