Bengaluru: As ‘Chinnamma’ V K Sasikala’s dreams of becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu have hogged dust with the Court convicting her in a Disproportionate Asset case, Parappana Agrahara in Bengaluru has been witnessing some activities.
Sasikala will be put up in this prison and in this regard, the inmates of the jail are busy cleaning up a cell where she would be housed. She is expected to reach Parappana Agrahara on Wednesday evening and hence security has been stepped up around the prison.
Former CM of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa was also jailed here in 2014 and she was given a standalone cell next to dispensary dispensary of the adjacent women’s barracks inside the prison complex.
While there were rumours that Sasikala would be housed in the same ‘special cell’, the sources in the prison said that at first place there are no ‘special cells’ in the jail and that Sasikala is likely to be lodged at the general women’s barracks, just like any regular convict as there is no special status attached to her. She will share the cell with other inmates.
The cell where Jayalalithaa was put up was regular cell with an attached bathroom. But, the truth is that this portion of the prison is allotted to high-priority inmates. Even former CM of Karnataka BS Yeddyurappa was here!
