Bengaluru: The Garden City of Bengaluru will have to bid a farewell to one of its finest officers. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Sonia Narang, who hit the headlines recently for bringing to books the accused in the shameful Pre-University question paper scam, will be sent on Central deputation for four years and posted as Superintendent of Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA) New Delhi.

Narang, a 2002 batch IPS officer enjoys the reputation of being a no non-sense and clean officer. A fearless female cop, she had once slapped a politician for crossing the line and had also exposed a corruption scam, which led to the resignation of former Lokayukta Justice Bhaskar Rao.
In January this year, she was promoted as DIG and posted to the CID.
