Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, an elderly couple plagued with health issues, allegedly took their own lives in their house in Girinagar on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Swarnamurthy and Krishnamurthy.

According to the police, the couple’s alleged suicide note was recovered from the scene. In it, the couple blamed their son and daughter-in-law for neglecting them and named them as the cause of their taking this step.

Police officials from the Girinagar station told ANI that the note they found at the scene blamed the son and his wife for neglecting them, thereby pushing them into depression.

The couple is believed to have committed suicide while their son and daughter-in-law, who are both software engineers, were at work. The police were alerted about the incident when the son returned home from work.

Family members have claimed that Swarnamurthy was bedridden due to some illness and Krishnamurthy was suffering from depression.

An investigation into the case is underway.
