Bengaluru: Four weeks after he assumed the post of Chief Minister of the state, B S Yediyurappa has allocated portfolios to his ministers and named three Deputy Chief Ministers. Basavaraj Bommai has been allocated the all-important Home Department. Govind M Karajol, Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan and Laxman Sangappa Savadi have been named as the three DCMs of the state.
All the 17 ministers have been allotted portfolios. Govind M Karajol has been assigned the Public Works Department while Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan got the Higher Education, IT and BT, Science and Technology portfolios. The other ministers and their portfolios are as follows: Laxman Sangappa Savadi (Transport), K S Eshwarappa (Rural Development and Panchayat Raj), R Ashoka (Revenue Department excluding Muzrai), Jagadish Shettar (Large and Medium Scale Industries excluding Sugar), B Sreeramulu (Health and Welfare excluding Medical Education), S Suresh Kumar (Primary and Secondary Education and Sakala), V Sommanna (Housing), C T Ravi (Tourism, Additional charge Kannada and Culture), Kota Srinivas Poojary (Muzrai from Revenue Department, Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport), C C Patil (Mines and Geology from Commerce and Industries Department), Prabhu Chauhan (Animal Husbandry), Jolle Shashikala Annasaheb (Women and Child Development, Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens) and J C Madhu Swamy (Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation, Additional charge Minor Irrigation from Water Resources Department).
Independent MLA H Nagesh has got the Excise Department.
