Bengaluru: In a startling end to the 76-year-old realtor’s murder case, the RMC Yard Police have arrested the son of the victim.
It may be recalled that Gilbert Correya was strangled to death by assailants using a USB cable, before putting chilli powder on his body on February 22.
Correya was living alone at his residence after the demise of his wife one-year-ago while his sons stayed in a separate houses in the city.
The accused is Janson, a resident of Chikkabidarakallu and son of Gilbert Correya. He is an employee with a private pharma company.
Though Correya’s elder son Janson had filed a case after the murder suspecting that a lady who visited Correya regularly could be behind the murder, the police zeroed in on Jason, who during interrogation confessed to the crime.
He said that Correya was leading a lavish life, enjoying with his alleged lover immediately after the death of his wife.
Janson blamed his father for not taking care of his mother and giving a part of his property to his alleged lover, which compelled him to kill his father.
