Bengaluru: The Kengeri police have arrested a gang of six persons, including two women, on charges of blackmailing people by setting up a honey trap.

The police have identified the accused as Jayanthi, 28, Rukmini, 30, Manjunath, 32, Mahadeva, 27, Mahesh, 24, and Swamy, 27. The accused trapped Gangadhar, a civil contractor, on March 17.

According to the police, the gang took Gangadhar to an isolated place in Challaghatta on the outskirts of the city and blackmailed him with a video of him in compromising positions. They threatened to inform his family and demanded Rs 10 lakh from him.

A case has been registered at Kengeri police station.
