Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has questioned the new education policy of the state government and urged Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to relook into the same, which speaks of implementing English medium of instruction from Class I.

Speaking at an event organized by the Kannada book authority at his home turf Badami, he stated, “I studied in Kannada medium till high school. Am I dumb? (naanu peddana?)”

“I will speak with the CM on introducing the English medium of instruction from the class I. It is not necessary. It will also hurt the interest of Kannada language,” he said.
