Hubballi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah blamed the Goa State Government for its non-cooperation in resolving the dispute over sharing of Mahadayi river waters.
Speaking to reporters here, Siddaramaiah said it was the firm stand of the Karnataka government that the issue should be resolved out of court. However, owing to stubborn attitude of the Goa government, it was not happening.
CM said he had written to Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and his predecessor Laxmikant Parsekar on resolving the issue amicably. “But Goa did not agree, even as Maharashtra was ready for negotiation. When the chief minister of a state writes to his counterpart of another State, the reply should be from the latter themselves. But, to my letter a minister has replied,” he said.
Reiterating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should intervene in the matter, CM said that is only way to settle the matter without further delay.
