Bengaluru: In a big relief to the Congress in the Kundagol Assembly constituency, where a by-poll is scheduled for May 19, former CM Siddaramaiah was able to resolve the difference of opinion between major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar and forest minister Satish Jarakiholi.

According to sources on Saturday, May 4 evening, Siddaramaiah made both the leaders sit together and discuss their problems. After the face off, both the leaders agreed to campaign together.

It can be recalled that both the leaders were involved in a war of words last week over the Kundagol by-elections, forcing the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) to drop the proposal of appointing DKShi as the poll in-charge.

The by-elections in the Kundgol Assembly constituency is necessitated following the death of MLA C S Shivalli, who was a minister in the state cabinet led by CM H D Kumaraswamy.
