Bengaluru: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader and former CM Siddaramaiah issued a show cause notice to four MLAs who are loyal to former minister Ramesh Jarakiholi, directing them to appear in front of him immediately. It is said that the four have been given seven days time to appear before him and explain the reason for their absence at the recently held CLP meeting.

The notices have been sent by speed post from KPCC office, on Tuesday to the official and residential address of former minister Ramesh Jarakiholi, Umesh Jadhav, Nagendra and Mahesh Kumatahalli.
“He warned of action under anti-defection law if the MLAs fail to appear before him and explain reasons for their absence,” said a senior party leader. According to the Congress sources, these notices were served following the state intelligence department report to CM HD Kumaraswamy that the BJP restarted its effort to launch Operation Kamala to destabilise the government.

“There are reports that Kampli MLA JN Ganesh, who is missing after January 19 resort brawl has joined these four MLAs and together they are planning to switch over to the BJP after submitting their resignation letters. Technically, at this stage no one can resign,” explained a Congress leader. Meanwhile, state political circles are abuzz with the rumours that the BJP is all set to launch final efforts to dislodge the government in a day or two.
It may be recalled that three out of four rebel MLAs had responded to show cause notice served to them a couple of weeks ago and had stated their allegiance to the Congress.
