Bengaluru: Two alleged killers of Sub-Inspector Jagadish who was stabbed on October 16 were brought to city from Nagpur on Wednesday night.
Madhu and Harish Babu were nabbed by the Nagpur crime branch police at Nagpur railway station in Maharashtra on Monday.
They were nabbed while they trying to leave for Hyderabad by train and thereby evade arrest. Nagpur police, however were alerted by the Bengaluru rural police and had circulated their pictures to their counterparts in neighbouring states and it helped to arrest both the accused.
The duo, escorted by the police team, reached Kempegowda International Airport around 11 pm on Wednesday.
Police sources said that even though the accused were caught two days ago, there was delay in getting clearance from Bureau of Civil Aviation to bring the accused. They will be subjected to thorough interrogation to ascertain the various aspects of the case — such as the persons who stabbed Jagadish and about the whereabouts of the service revolver snatched by them, the source said.
The accused will be produced before a magistrate on Thursday in Nelamangala. The police team was led by Superintendent of Police B Ramesh and included Additional SP M Narayan, police inspectors Puttabalareddy, Kishore Kumar and H S Parameshwar.
Jagadish, sub-inspector of Doddaballapur, son of a retired police officer was stabbed to death while chasing two bike thieves on October 16.
