Bengaluru: Though state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa has been chanting the mission 22 mantra and expressing his confidence of winning with a huge margin, findings of an internal survey of the BJP has indicated that only 12 out of the 17 sitting MPs are in a position to win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

According to the sources, the top leaders of BJP have conducted an internal survey, the results of which is shocking.

Surprisingly, such an internal survey was undertaken without the knowledge of the state party leaders and the findings of the survey were revealed by BJP national president Amit Shah during his recent visit to Bengaluru.

It is also said that Amit Shah took state leaders to task for their poor performance and asked them to try hard to get good results in the upcoming elections. Though state leaders defended their estimation of receiving 22 seats saying that they have done it during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and the 2018 Assembly elections, Shah is said to be not convinced with their answers.

The survey also found that the party workers are against the candidatures of some sitting MPs owing to different reasons. The list of such candidates includes the names of Nalin Kumar Kateel, Shobha Karandlaje, Pratap Simha, Karadi Sanganna, Ramesh Jigajinagi among others.

The BJP has no stronghold in Gulbarga, Chitradurga, Tumkur and Chikkaballapur constituencies. However, state leaders are said to have informed Amit Shah that they were in a good position in these constituencies.
