Bengaluru: As pictures of masks with the Delhi Public School’s (DPS) name and logo printed on them were widely shared on social media claiming that the school has been selling face masks for Rs 400, the DPS filed a police complaint about ‘fake’ social media message.

After seeing such messages on social media, many parents had questioned the school management move. Meanwhile, some described the so-called sale as a ‘robbery’.

There are five DPS institutions in Bengaluru and one in Mysuru.

The department of primary education sought a clarification from the management after seeing these messages on social media. The special officer to the Primary and Secondary Education Minister, S Suresh Kumar, has written a letter to the commissioner for public instruction, “The news spreading on social media platforms about DPS selling masks to students for Rs 400 has created tension among parents. Regarding this, verify and submit the report.”
