Bengaluru: History-sheeters lodged in jail became friends and later turned into chain snatchers on release to amass money to realize their dream of developing a mobile app.

The arrested have been identified as Jabiuddin Tabrez (30), resident of HSR Layout and Arun Kumar (30), resident of Mahalakshmi Layout.

These two accused in several criminal cases had served jail term in Parappana Agrahara prison. They became friends in jail and decided to develop a mobile app on city school and colleges after release. They came in contact with an app developer, who demanded Rs 2 lakhs for executing their dream project. With no money in kitty to pay the developer, the duo turned to chain snatching, eventually to become police guests once again after they ran out of luck.
