Bengaluru: Nearly 21 years after it was established, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) is all set to get its own campus by next year. This university which was established in 1996 is presently operated from a makeshift campus in Jayanagar T block of the city.
According to the university officials, stone laying ceremony for the proposed new campus of the University in Archakarahalli of Ramanagar district will be held in the first week of August. A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of various stakeholders held under the chairmanship of CM S Siddaramaiah on Wednesday.
Health city:
According to the decision taken in the meeting, it has been decided to develop a heath city along with the university campus.
“Medical, dental, nursing and pharmacy colleges are proposed in the campus along with a super speciality hospital,” informed officials.
According to the detailed project report, 16 mega-buildings are proposed in the university campus.
