Bengaluru: Rajya Okkaligara Sangha staged a protest rally against Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, August 30. Hundreds of members staged protest against Tamil Nadu and shouted slogans condemning the Bandh called for in the respective state over Cauvery issue.
The protesters gathered near Mysore Bank circle in the morning with placards condemning Tamil Nadu’s decision to approach Supreme Court over the issue. Several leaders of the organization said that the Tamil Nadu’s leaders have shown their insensitivity by not considering the problems of farmers in general and collective responsibility.
Meanwhile, the Bandh in Tamil Nadu had inched a slightly adverse affect in some parts of the state, especially Bengaluru city and Kolar district. Bengaluru city receives considerable amount of daily business stocks like eggs, tender coconuts, meat, vegetables shipped from Tamil Nadu everyday and due to Bandh the vendors here suffered loss due to non availability of the said stocks.
Some of the vendors moaned as they suffered loss due to Bandh. Most of them get the stocks early in the morning transported from Hosur, Krishnagiri, Selam and other parts of TN. The transporters stopped shipping goods from Monday evening itself, said a vendor at Madiwala market.
