Bengaluru: The BJP has concluded its selection of the opposition leader, appointing former Deputy CM R. Ashok. The BJP high command has officially announced Ashok as the leader of the opposition. This move aligns with the joining of former CM BS Yediyurappa in the state BJP, further solidifying Yediyurappa’s influence. It appears that the individual recommended by Yediyurappa has been chosen as the state president and leader of the opposition in the state BJP.

The decision was reached during the BJP legislature party meeting at a private hotel in Bengaluru. Observers from the Centre, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Dushyant Kumar Gautam, stated that the selection was made based on the opinions of the MLAs, officially announcing Ashok as the chosen leader.
