Probe intensified in businessman Parchuri murder case

Bengaluru: Investigators are zeroing in on circumstantial evidence including CCTV footage and suspect acquaintances behind the killing of businessman Surendra Kumar Parachuri. Police have formed four teams to nab the assailants and have deputed one team each to Mathura and Guntur whereas the other two are stationed in the city.

Surendra Kumar used to give hand loans and kept record of all debtors including politicians, businessmen and policemen who figure in his records, to whom he lent money to the tune of Rs 30 Crore, recalls family member Captain Choudhury.

The deceased businessman had taken a 2 acre land on lease and kept 56 dogs and caretakers there. Around 30 care takers were present during final rites, family sources recounted.

According to reliable sources, Kumar owned a Benz and Maruti Eco and did not possess any immovable property.

Police suspect financial dealings might have led to his murder and have now intensified investigations. Kumar had filed 12 complaints against his former Global Security Services Executive Director Kapil for misappropriation of funds at R T Nagar Police Station. It is learnt, Kapil had threatened to kill Surendra Kumar eight months ago. One team has rushed to Mathura to track Kapil who is based there.

It may be recalled that businessmen Surendra Kumar Parachuri was shot dead by unknown bike borne assailants on the night of Sunday, October 30.
