Pregnant woman, three college students die in road accident

Bengaluru: A pregnant woman and three college students lost their lives in three separate accidents  on Sunday morning.

Uma, wife of Lakshminarayana, of Kavalahosalli under the Anekal police limits, was going on a walk in the morning when a BMTC bus ran over her.

The driver, Dinesh, is yet to be arrested. Further investigation is on.

In another case, two students died when their car collided with another car at Pallanahalli Gate, on Bellary Road, near Yelahanka.

The police have identified the deceased as Kishore and Santosh, both 22 years old. According to the police, both were travelling with three other friends, who escaped without injuries. The driver and passengers of the other car sustained minor injuries.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the Yelahanka traffic police are waiting for the medical report to ascertain whether it is a case of drunken driving.

In another incident, Ranjith Kumar (23) died on Baglur Main Road after the bike he was riding pillion crashed into an electric pole. A case has been registered.
