Bengaluru: Tens of houses have been damaged while hundreds of trees were uprooted in several districts across the state following heavy rainfall reported on Sunday night.

The worst affected district is Chikkamagalur.

Several houses are damaged and many electric poles are uprooted in Kalasa, Balehonnur, Koppa, Mudigere following the heavy rainfall.

Kodagu also witnessed a heavy downpour, but no complaints of any damages have been reported as of now.

Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar are the three other districts which witnessed heavy rainfall. Power disruption has been reported from many places in these districts.

According to the IMD forecast, rain is expected to continue for a few more days bringing a much needed relief to farmers, who are upset after the Covid 19 lock down.
