Prank call lands youth behind bars in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A raged youth who played mischief by making a hoax call to police landed in police net on Thursday.

The Tilaknagar police of Bengaluru arrested Akash (25) for making hoax call to the police stating that scores of people died after consuming food at the canteen inside Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology in the city. It has been learnt that Akash, who hails from Sakleshpur was terminated from service at the canteen on Wednesday, after he reported to work in an inebriated state.

Dejected by the same he tried to settle scores with the canteen management and ended up making a call to the police informing that several people died after consuming contaminated food at the canteen. When the police started probe, they found that it was a prank call.

Unfortunately, Akash had used his mobile to call the cops. On verifying, the cops found out that it was Akash’s number from which they received the hoax call. He was arrested when he was on his way to Sakleshpur. Akash has confessed to have called the police and informed that he wanted to dent the image of the hospital.
